Progesterone is a steroidal hormone. This means that it is transported around the body via fat cells sending chemical signals to different parts. A lack of progesterone, or an excess thereof (called progesterone dominance) can have serious consequences for the female body.

Progesterone dominance, as the name suggests, is a surplus of progesterone. It can also indicate an estrogen deficiency.
