The adverse signs and symptoms of menopause are caused by an imbalance of estrogen and progesterone hormones. This is because when women are menopausal an overproduction of estrogen may occur. This can then result in side effects such as hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings. Fortunately there are different ways to combat an overproduction of estrogen hormones.
How to beat an overproduction of estrogen hormones
There are three main ways that women can beat an overproduction of estrogen hormones. The way that women chose to overcome their overproduction of estrogen hormones is dependant on the severity of their overproduction of estrogen hormones.
For example if women only have a mild level of over production of their estrogen hormones they should make healthy lifestyle changes, such as:
• Take regular, moderate exercise. It is recommended to do at least half an hour a day, five times a week
• Eat a healthy and varied diet that is filled with a different variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, and has plenty of whole grain fibers
• Drink at least eight small glasses of water a day to keep the body fresh and hydrated
• Sleep for between seven to eight hours a night to keep rested and not stressed
• Don’t drink alcohol
• And it is especially important that women experiencing an overproduction of estrogen hormones quit smoking
However if this is not effective menopausal women should turn to natural supplements to help beat their overproduction of estrogen hormones. This is because natural supplements are all natural products that are generally better for women than synthetic hormones. Different natural supplements of an overproduction of estrogen hormones contain ingredients such as:
• Black cohosh
• Soy
• Maca
• Ginseng
• Gingko
• And licorice
Even so if these natural supplements do not help women to overcome an overproduction of estrogen hormones they should then turn to prescribed medications from their doctors, such as hormone replacement therapy.
For many women suffering from a severe overproduction of estrogen hormones the benefits of hormone replacement therapy can often outweigh the risks. Nevertheless Women should be wary of receiving hormone replacement therapy because there are different risks associated with receiving hormone replacement therapy. For example if women receive hormone replacement therapy for more than five years in a row they are at a higher risk of developing cancers such as uterine, breast, and ovarian cancer.
